The Breastplate of Righteousness #2
Objects needed: Clear, shiny mirror, small flashlight, paper towels, dirt, and spray window
Cleaner.
Your Breastplate of Righteousness is bright and shiny like this mirror.
(Hold up the mirror) When you follow Jesus with all of your heart and do
not sin, your Breastplate of Righteousness stays shiny and clean. It
protects your heart from the lies of satan. When it is clean and shiny,
it reflects the Light of Jesus to others. When light hits the mirror and
reflects off it, the light can almost be blinding to your eyes.
(shine flashlight off mirror to create reflection)
When you sin, you dull your Breastplate. (wipe some dirt on the mirror to dull it)
Sin keeps you from being as strong and protected as Jesus wants you to be.
(show the dirty mirror) When you put on the spiritual Armor that God gives you,
it is important to make sure that your Breastplate is clean and shiny, so that the
Light of Jesus reflects from you and your heart is protected. You can keep it clean
and shiny by confessing your sin and asking Jesus to forgive you as soon as you know
you have done something to make it dirty. Then Jesus will clean your Breastplate for you.
He will make you righteous and clean again. (Spray cleaner on the mirror and begin to wipe it clean)
Let's keep our Breastplate clean by confessing every sin to Jesus, asking Him to forgive us.
Not before you go to bed when it's time to say your prayers, but as soon as you get it dirty.
Then you will keep your heart protected from the lies of satan and you will always reflect the
Light of Jesus' love to other people.
