Belt of Truth

Objects needed: A walkie-talkie or cellular telephone

** Hold the Walkie-Talkie or phone while you talk

In a war, communication devices such as walkie-talkies, telephones, and radios are very important. They keep troops up to date with enemy plans and movement. They keep troops informed of battle plan changes. Without them a modern army would be in big trouble.

One of the first objectives of any army is to try to destroy the communications center of the opposing army. If they can destroy the communications center, they can isolate troops and leave them without protection. If they cannot destroy the communications center, they try to invade the airwaves with false information to confuse troops and make them useless.

Our communication center as Christians is our relationship with God through prayer and fellowship with Him. Our enemy, satan, is trying to beat us. He tries to destroy our communication center. He tries to keep us busy so we don't pray and have fellowship with God. He tries to leave us without protection. If he cannot destroy our communication center, he tries to invade our airwaves with false information to try to make us useless. One way he does this is with lies. He tries to fill our minds with lies. He'll try to tell you that you are sick, or that you're too young to do anything for God, and as many other lies as you will believe.

To defeat our enemy we must know the truth. We must know that Jesus has already purchased our healing for us. We must know that God can use us no matter how old we are. To defeat satan's lies and protect us from even more lies we must know the truth. We find truth in God's Word, the Bible. The Holy Spirit instructs us to put on the "belt of truth" (Ephesians 6:14). We find the truth in the Bible, and carry it with us as part of our armor against the enemy.
